Wedding Favors

Made 200 candy bar wrappers with coordinating tags for my friend's wedding this month.  I'm loving the colors she chose, I just wish I could be there for the big day!  Congrats, Whit....I am counting on someone taking and sending me a lot of pictures.

Glass Etched Bowl

Wedding season has arrived the the invitations are rolling in.  I wanted to come up with a fun, personalized gift for the soon to be newlyweds in my circle.

I bought some pretty glass bowls and etching creme.  I had to go to three different stores for the creme, the first two being sold out.  Popular stuff, that creme.  Maybe these brides and grooms will be getting several of these on their wedding day from different guests.....yikes.  Anyway, I cut out the monogram in the font I liked on vinyl using my Silhouette.  The vinyl is sticky on one side, which  makes it perfect for using it as a stencil on the bowl, no taping required and you get a nice crisp seal.  I brushed on my creme with a basic sponge brush, very liberal with the coat.  Five minutes later, I rinsed it off with tap water and removed my vinyl.  Voila!  Thinking of adding some monogrammed kitchen towels....

They are not perfect, but for my first attempt, I am very happy with them.  I hope the recipients are too.  Congrats newlyweds!

Mini Wedding Cake

My son's ABA tutor got married last weekend.  She was planning on doing tiered stands with cupcakes for the guests, but needed a little cake for the bride and groom to cut at the reception.  I offered to make the "cutting cake" as her wedding gift and here it is!
The finished cake is two tiers, the bottom tier only being six inches in diameter.  The cake is a sour cream pound with a homemade strawberry filling.  The bride didn't want fondant, so I did a cream cheese frosting and colored a little for the purple border.  She had a cute monogram cake topper, but we didn't put it on until the cake arrived at the reception.  I didn't go to the wedding, so I'm hoping some of the other guests got some pictures for me with the topper and all of the cupcakes.

Hitched

They did it!  My little bro is a married man!

Here's a pic of just my side of the family.  Yep.  That would be my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and first cousins only.  And we were missing a few as well.  It's kind of like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but instead of a lamb on a spit, we do BBQ and potato salad.

And here is the bride and groom with all of their nieces and nephews.  The girls kept their headbands on most of the time and the boys did great with their bow ties.

We had so much fun celebrating and seeing our family.  Who is getting married next?  Anyone?

Flower Girl Headbands

For the one year old (a thicker, softer band)

For the four year old.

Using myself as the model in my dark bathroom.

These headbands will be worn with plum colored dresses and green sashes.  I'm so excited to see these on the girls.  I hope they like them.  A fabulous tutorial at Make It and Love It, found HERE.

That officially concludes all of my prep for the wedding!  Now, the anti-climax to all of this fun stuff:  packing.  Dreading it.

Family Tree

This is my brother and future sister in law's wedding gift.  I saw the tutorial for this on Sutton Grace and had to make one for them.  You can find her instructions and downloads right HERE.

Here is a detail of the tree.  I digitally smudged out the birthdates for some identity theft protection, even though most of the people on here are deceased.

Congrats you two, can't wait to come for the wedding!
