The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved this book. A story of a young girl growing up in rural Texas at the turn of the 19th century. One tomboy, science loving girl amongst a determined mother, 6 brothers, and a wonderfully eccentric grandfather. Great stuff, nothing heavy or too much to ponder, just a fun, entertaining read about this great family. Reminds me of the Great Brain series by J. D. Fitzgerald. I think I want to buy this one so I can read it again sometime.
